Comment: The top-down bottom-up shades provide so much flexibility in controlling light and privacy. I won't order shades without it!

Comment: As to my comment about the utility of the top down bottom up shades, I would recommend that customers always purchase them unless there is a reason not to--when I bought shades, I think my thinking was the other way 'round and now, I wish some of the bottom up only shades opened both ways. Obviously, if there is a reason not to have the option, then the difference in price would be the deciding factor, but otherwise the difference in price is small compared to the versatility. I did not realize how much versatility is added by having shades that open from both the top and bottom.
Having the two-way of opening is so useful that were I to buy the shades over again, I would consider adding that to more windows. Opening the top only is great for letting in light and maintaining privacy and it also lets you open the shade in cold weather while maintaining some of the insulation that the shades provide. I highly recommend the dual opening for bathroom windows so you can have ventilation and sun in the summer while maintaining privacy. I am looking at purchasing more of your shades in the not to distant future for several windows that I didn't buy shades for in my first go around.

The shades that ARE up and AWESOME!! I live in a mammoth pour concrete building with hundred-year old single-paned glass warehouse windows. It's kind of like having saran wrap between me and the city, even with the solar films I had applied. The shades help SO much with temperatue AND noise. I LOVE them!!

We are very happy CellularWindowShades.com customers. Ours are side track, bottom up/top down shades, on all the windows in our house.
Purchased in about 2007.

I have two shades side by side and got top down/bottom up on both which means I have two cords right next to eachother and they frequently get tangled together.

I ordered some cord loop shades and top down/bottom up in the same room and did not realize that the tops rail parts would look different.
